Ireland failed to make it through to the finals of this year's Eurovision Song Contest with their youngest ever entrant, 17-year-old Molly Sterling.

Sterling performed Playing With Numbers while playing the piano in the hope of seeing her country through to the grand final at Vienna's Wiener Stadthalle.

But for just the fifth time since the semi-final round was introduced in 2004, Ireland did not manage to make the top 10 of the evening and bag a spot at the weekend show.

They also missed out on the finals in 2005, 2008, 2009 and 2014, but are still the most successful country at Eurovision with seven previous wins under their belts.

The final is on Saturday on BBC One at 8pm, with UK coverage hosted by Graham Norton.
