New search for missing hairdresser

A new search is to begin tomorrow for a Co Offaly hairdresser who disappeared 18 years ago.

Fiona Pender is believed to have been murdered. The pregnant woman disappeared from her flat on Church Street in Tullamore on August 22 1996, aged 25, and has not been seen since.

A search of an area outside Portlaoise is expected to take a number of weeks.

Gardai have intensified their investigation.
