A sniffer dog helped uncover £2.1 million worth of cannabis that was hidden in crates on a truck that arrived at Dublin Port on Wednesday evening.

Revenue Officers, assisted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and the Special Crime Task Force, seized 376kg of cannabis resin and 9.7kg of herbal cannabis, with a total estimated value of £2.1 million.

Drugs dog Holly signalled that drugs were on board the truck, which had arrived in Dublin on the evening ferry from Holyhead.

The detection was made by revenue's Mobile X-Ray Scanner.
