A Tyrone fan has drowned in the River Liffey after the All Ireland Football quarter-finals in Croke Park.
Aiden Mullen, 35, from Tattyreagh Road in the city, was socialising with family and friends in a pub on Burgh Quay, Dublin, before the tragedy struck last weekend.
At approximately 3.40am on July 31st the group left the premises and were waiting on Burgh Quay to get taxis home when Mr Mullen left the group and walked over to the river Liffey wall.
He was last seen falling into the river by his brother, who also jumped in to save him.
Gardai said both men got in to trouble in the water and three passers by also jumped in to help.
Five units of Dublin Fire Brigade later removed four people during a dramatic rescue.
"A short time later the body of the deceased was located in the vicinity," said a garda spokesman.
"A number of witnesses have come forward, but Gardai would like witnesses who have not yet come forward or any one who has information in relation to the incident to contact them in Pearse Street."
