Search resumes for missing man

A major search operation has resumed for a man last seen in the water yesterday evening.

The man, who was in his 40s, is suspected of falling in to the water at Howth, north Dublin, while rock fishing.

Some items of fishing gear were found near the area.

Dublin Coastguard said the search from the East Pier to the nose of the Hill of Howth resumed at first light involving the coast guard helicopter, Howth coast guard, Howth RNLI and gardai.

Weather conditions are said to be good today, with a slight swell in the water.
