Swedish House Mafia concert stab accused stays in custody
A 22-year-old man accused of stabbing a tourist at a concert in the Phoenix Park in Dublin last Saturday was further remanded in custody yesterday.
On Monday, Raymond Donnan was charged with assaulting Andrew England (28) from the Isle of Man, who suffered multiple stab wounds at the Swedish House Mafia gig which was attended by about 45,000 people.
Mr Donnan, with an address at Greenfort Crescent, Clondalkin, Dublin, was remanded in custody by Judge David McHugh after he heard that a file was being prepared for the DPP. He will appear again on August 3.
On Monday, when he was first charged, Dublin District Court had been told that Mr England was allegedly assaulted when he went to help a woman who was involved in a row.
Garda Sergeant Shane McCartan said the concert-goer was stabbed "on five occasions" causing him to receive four puncture wounds to his side and one to his head. He also suffered damage to his liver and "had to receive stitches to the back of his head and elbow".
