Teenagers arrested over Co Kildare housing estate gun murder

Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a man on a housing estate.

Jason Doogue, 22, was gunned down by a masked killer on a BMX bicycle in the Greenhills area of Athy, Co Kildare, on Friday evening.

The victim was rushed to Naas General Hospital for emergency surgery but he was later pronounced dead.

A man aged in his forties was arrested shortly after the murder.

Investigating gardai have since arrested a boy in his early teens and another in his late teens.

They were detained on Saturday under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act at Naas Garda station.

The suspect arrested on Friday also remains in custody.
