Three arrested over drugs hauls

Gardai have seized drugs with an estimated street value of up to 240,000 euro in Meath.

The seizure came in a planned operation targeting the activities of a north Dublin criminal gang.

Three men have been arrested.

Gardai from the Organised Crime Unit stopped two vans on the N2 at Kentstown at approximately 1.30pm on Saturday.

Cannabis herb with an estimated street value of up to 84,000 euro was seized and two men in their 30s were arrested.

They are currently detained in Finglas garda station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

In a later follow up search at a dwelling in Navan, a further quantity of cannabis herb with an estimated street value of up to 156,000 euro was seized and a third man in his 40s was arrested.

He is being detained at Kells garda station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
