Three men were killed in a crash when their car collided with a HGV, gardai have said.
The bodies of a driver, front seat passenger and rear seat passenger remain at the scene of the crash in Co Tipperary as forensic officers investigate.
The driver of the rigid truck is being treated for minor injuries in South Tipperary General Hospital.
The accident happened shortly before 11pm on Friday night on the northbound carriageway of the main N8 from Cashel to Dublin.
Gardai in Cashel later appealed to the public to help identify the three men killed in the car crash.
A spokesman said the men are believed to be aged in their 20s, of slim to medium build, dark haired and possibly of Romanian or Eastern European ethnicity.
The car they were travelling in is a blue four-door Volkswagen Passat, registration 99 D 89487. It is believed that the vehicle was travelling southbound prior to the collision.
Elsewhere, an elderly woman died and her 86-year-old brother was seriously injured in a car crash on the Strokestown to Elphin road in Lugboy, Roscommon.
