Two arrested in probe into Dublin murder
Two people have been arrested as part of the investigation into the murder of a man in inner city Dublin.
They are being questioned about the killing of father-of-one Gareth Hutch, who was shot dead in broad daylight on Tuesday morning in the Avondale House complex in Cumberland Street North, a few hundred yards from the capital's main thoroughfare O'Connell Street.
The pair were detained on Thursday night at Bridewell and Store Street Garda stations and are being held under section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act.
"There is now a total of three persons in custody in relation to this murder," a Garda spokesman said.
"No further details on the arrests are being made available at this stage for operational reasons."
Mr Hutch was a nephew of Gerry "The Monk" Hutch and is believed to be the seventh victim of a bloody dispute between feuding families that has spiralled out of control.
He was killed as he was preparing to appeal to Dublin City Council housing officers to move him from the flats because he was in fear for his life and looked after his young son four days a week.
He was also concerned that the flat he was living in was an easy target.
