Two held after cocaine house raid

Two men have been arrested as detectives uncovered cocaine and heroin worth two million euro at an illicit drugs "mixing factory".

Gardai detained the men - aged 40 and 53 - during a raid on a house at Johnstownbridge in Co Kildare.

They described the operation as a sophisticated mixing factory for cocaine and heroin. The drugs haul with mixing agents have been sent for forensic analysis.

The suspects were arrested at the scene and are being held at Leixlip Garda station. They are being questioned under section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.

A Garda spokesman said: "The scene is currently preserved for a technical examination."

The "intelligence led" Garda operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs was spearheaded by detectives from the Garda National Drug Unit.
