Two in court over Dublin raid bid
Two men have appeared in court over an attempted armed robbery in a Dublin city centre store.
Aidan Murphy and Ian Jordan were charged with falsely imprisoning two staff members during a raid in the Bullion Room on Bolton Street.
The men, both 31, were also accused of carrying an imitation firearm and attempting to rob Sharna Ragonesi on Wednesday morning.
The men were allegedly arrested by gardai at the scene after an alarm was activated at the store.
Murphy, of St Fanahans Place, Mitchelstown, Co Cork, and Mr Jordan, of Lanesborough Gardens, Charlestown, Finglas, appeared briefly at Dublin District Court for the short hearing.
The Court Service said both men were remanded in custody and will reappear before a judge in Cloverhill Court on August 19.
