Two killed in separate road crashes

A man and woman have died in separate road crashes in Co Kerry.

A female motorcyclist in her early 50s was killed when her bike left the road at Lissvieen in the Killarney area shortly before 5pm on Saturday.

The fatal incident came less than 24 hours after a man in his 30s died after the van he was driving hit a tree.

The collision happened on the L3025 near Beaufort at around 7.15pm on Friday.

The man was the sole occupant of the van.

He was taken to Kerry General Hospital in Tralee where he was later pronounced dead.

Gardai have appealed for witnesses to both incidents to come forward.
