US payments firm creates 120 jobs

Some 120 jobs are to be created as a US rental payments company sets up a new headquarters in Ireland.

YapStone is to open a base in Drogheda as it expands its operations around the world.

The jobs boost was announced during a week-long government trade trip to Seattle, San Francisco, Silicon Valley and Los Angeles.

Jobs Minister Richard Bruton said: "A key part of the Government's plans for jobs and growth is to attract more multinational companies to Ireland, and e-commerce and payments technology offers particular potential for employment creation."

YapStone provides web and mobile-based payment solutions for landlords involved in holiday rentals, apartments, commercial real estate, self-storage and non-profits.

The headquarters will offer jobs in customer support, research and development, software engineering, finance and accounting.
