Video: RTE World Cup pundit says f**K live on TV during Brazil v Mexico clash
Warning: Strong language
RTE World Cup pundit Eamon Dunphy was left red-faced this evening during the national broadcaster's coverage of Brazil's Group A clash with Mexico when he used the F-word on air.
O'Herlihy asked Dunphy about the affect of the level of expectation the Brazilian players were experiencing and while Dunphy described the demeanour of Neymar before he scored a penalty against Croatia last Thursday he used the "f**king".
"When Neymar was shaping up to take that penalty, I thought he was f**king dreading it," he said.
The veteran pundit seemed genuinely unaware that he was on air when O'Herlihy made him aware of the fact that his blooper had gone out to the viewers.
Before RTE headed over to their coverage of the game, O'Herlihy said: "Sorry about our hiccup there, it was entirely accidental."
To be fair to Dunphy, fellow pundit Didi Hamann was also unaware that they were on air as he toyed with his phone.
When RTE returned at half-time, Eamon Dunphy apologised for his language.
"I'd just like to apologise to anybody, I thought we were on an ad break and I used a four-letter word, I'm very, very sorry for the offence I'm sure I caused to some people. It won't happen again," Dunphy said.
