Woman held over shooting dead of man outside Co Kildare home

A woman has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a man outside his home in Co Kildare.

Jason Doogue, 22, was gunned down by a masked killer on a BMX bicycle in the Greenhills area of Athy, on Friday evening.

Gardai, who are continuing to question two others, have arrested a woman aged in her 30s.

She is being held under section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act at Newbridge Garda station.

A man in his 40s, arrested shortly after the killing, remains in custody.

Two teenagers were also detained over the weekend in connection with the shooting. One is still being questioned while the other was released without charge.

The victim was rushed to Naas General Hospital for emergency surgery but was later pronounced dead.
