A woman in her 30s has been assaulted while walking to work in Swords.

It happened on the R132 close to the Seatown Road and Seatown Roundabout, known locally as Woodies roundabout at about 6.45am on Sunday.

The victim suffered minor injuries after managing to flee the attacker who was wearing a grey hoodie.

She was helped by a passing cyclist.

Gardai want anyone who was in the area, particularly between Balheary Road and Seatown Roundabout to contact them at Swords Garda Station on 01 666 4700.
