Woman's body found at house

Gardai are investigating after a woman's body was found in Co Mayo.

The woman, in her late 40s, was discovered at a house in in Ballycurrin near Glen Corrib near the border with Co Galway.

Emergency services were called to the property at about 4.30pm.

The body has not yet been removed from the scene which has been sealed off pending a forensic and technical examination.

The local coroner and the office of the state pathologist have been informed.

Gardai said, at this stage, they were keeping an open mind about the circumstances surrounding the woman's death.

A spokesman said: "Inquiries are ongoing."
