Sister of IRA victim quits social media over online abuse
A woman whose sister was murdered by the IRA is closing her Facebook and Twitter accounts due to constant online abuse.
Victims' campaigner Ann Travers said she has been subjected to online abuse day and night.
Ms Travers' sister Mary was murdered in Belfast in 1984. The target of the ambush was their magistrate father, who survived the attack.
She said: "When you start to look at your phone with fear, that's when you know enough's enough.
"Being on Twitter is like sitting in a room and having complete strangers shout at you incessantly without stopping.
"You come to dread checking your notifications, to see what's being said about you."
