Game seeks brain of Belfast
Friday, 20 July 2007
We're about to learn the verdict on the Ulster brain - how does our grey matter compare to the rest of the UK?
Nintendo will be exercising brain cells as it arrives in Belfast this weekend for its National Brain Age Challenge.
Teams of brain age checkers are touring the country to test the nation's grey matter power using the latest hit title More Brain Training by Dr Kawashima - How Old Is Your Brain? on the handheld Nintendo DS Lite.
The game has already proved a hit with celebrities such as Nicole Kidman and OAP rock stars The Zimmers.
The teams reach Belfast tomorrow and will be touring various locations in the city.
The game is designed to provide daily stimulation for the brain, using simple exercises to help it stay sharp.
The DS Brain Age Check measures the speed and accuracy with which tasks are performed, establishing the user's DS Brain Age. Once this is established, a regular regime is set to stimulate the brain.
Nintendo's UK marketing director Dawn Paine said: "We're expecting to see some serious competition between towns so the people of Belfast will have to think hard to outwit the rest of the country and be crowned the nation's brainiest town."
