Teenager arrested by officers after attack on boy (9)
A teenager has been arrested after a nine year-old boy was attacked with a taser in north Belfast.
The child sustained an injury to his arm following the assault in the Ballycastle Court area of the city on Wednesday. A 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and a taser was seized, police said. Inspector Roy Watton said this was a very serious incident.
He added: "I would remind both children and parents that a taser is not a toy and it can cause a lot of pain when used on someone.
"I would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed this incident to contact police at Musgrave Street on the non-emergency number 101 or anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
The 14-year-old has been released pending further investigations.
