Two young men are in a serious condition in hospital after an accident in Co Fermanagh.

The collision, which involved three motorbikes, occurred on the Concession Road near Newtownbutler around 2am yesterday morning.

The two men being treated in hospital are in their early 20s.

Police are investigating the crash and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Local SDLP councillor Fergus McQuillan said it was a reasonably good stretch of road.

“It would run across the border but mostly it’s a good road,” he said. “My thoughts are with the two injured men and I wish them a speedy recovery.”

Meanwhile in a separate incident three people suffered minor injuries after an accident at Shore Road near Enniskillen.

The one-vehicle crash occurred at a bridge close to the new Lough Erne Golf resort.

A lady who was trapped in the vehicle had to be cut free by firefighters.

Two male passengers were able to escape and all three were taken to hospital.

A Fire Service spokesman said firefighters from Enniskillen, Omagh and Belleek responded to the incident.
