Two released after being questioned about Kevin McDaid murder
Two men arrested over the murder of a Catholic community worker who was kicked to death by a sectarian mob in Northern Ireland have been released by police.
The men, aged 28 and 31, were arrested in Coleraine and brought for questioning about the murder of Kevin McDaid (49) and the serious injury of Damien Fleming (46) last month.
The two Catholic men were attacked by a Protestant mob in the Heights area of the town last month after Rangers beat Celtic to the Scottish Premier League title.
A police spokesman last night said the pair arrested had been released pending further enquiries.
