21-year-old man dies after fall

A 21-year-old man has died following a fall near Mount Snowdon, police said.

A spokesman for North Wales Police said the force received reports of a person who had fallen in the vicinity of Snowdon just after 5pm last night.

Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team and the search and rescue helicopter from RAF Valley were scrambled to the incident.

"Regrettably, despite the best efforts of those involved a 21-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene," the spokesman added.

His next-of-kin have been notified.
