80% of Britons worry about finances
Four out of five Britons fret about the state of their finances, an increase on a year ago, new research reveals.
Some 80% of those surveyed said they spend time worrying about money, compared with 60% when a similar poll was carried out in 2011, the Institute of Financial Planning (IFP) said.
The study, which was conducted to mark the start of Financial Planning Week on Monday, found that only 13% of those surveyed said their household financial circumstances had improved over the last six months.
Some 30% of more than 1,000 people questioned are planning to reduce their monthly spending in 2013, while a fifth will try to save more each month and 19% are looking to pay off credit cards or other debt.
