£82m up for grabs in lottery draw

A single ticket-holder could win the second biggest jackpot ever seen in the UK in Friday night's EuroMillions draw.

The estimated £82 million prize is just short of the record £84.4 million scooped in May by a single winner, who remains anonymous.

Ten Britons have won EuroMillions jackpots totalling £347 million since June last year.

A National Lottery spokesman said: "With £82 million to play with, you could share your wealth with all your friends and family and still have plenty left to change your own life beyond your wildest dreams.

"Huge jackpots like these really capture the imagination of players but don't forget that, in addition to the chance to scoop a life-changing sum, more people playing EuroMillions means more money raised for good causes all over the UK."

According to The Sunday Times Rich List 2010, an £82 million winner would be richer than the Gallagher brothers from rock group Oasis, both worth £55 million, and Sir Cliff Richard, worth £50 million.

However they would be slightly less well-off than singers Robbie Williams and George Michael.

If no player matches all five main numbers and two Lucky Star numbers to win the jackpot, it will roll over to the following Friday's draw.
