Bones found in woodland

Police have cordoned off an area of woodland as they investigate the discovery of bones in the location.

West Mercia Police said officers are searching the site at Sweeney mountain near Oswestry in Shropshire.

Forensic officers will be attending the scene to try to establish what exactly has been found.

A force spokesman said : "Although work is ongoing at the scene, the investigation into the discovery is at a very early stage and officers believe it is likely to be some time before they establish who or what the bones relate to."
