Boy, 17, found stabbed in street

A murder investigation has been launched after a 17-year-old boy was found fatally stabbed in a street.

Police and paramedics called to Berkley Gardens in Enfield, north London, at around 9.35pm last night found the boy slumped on the pavement.

He was taken in a critical condition to a hospital in central London but he died a short time later, Scotland Yard said.

Four people - two boys aged 17, a 17-year-old girl and a 46-year-old woman - have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The unnamed boy's next of kin have been told about his death. Scotland Yard said a post-mortem examination will take place later.

The four suspects were being held at separate stations in north London as detectives from the homicide and major crime command continued to investigate.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the incident room on 020 8345 3775 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
