Buckingham Palace knifeman committed
A man found with knives near Buckingham Palace has been detained in hospital.
John Bolton was found with three lock knives at Hyde Park Corner, London, on June 9 last year, two days before the official celebration for the Queen's 90th birthday.
The 48-year-old, who went on the run last summer, prompting a warrant to be issued for his arrest, had also pleaded guilty to a 2015 offence of having a Commando knife in Parliament Square, where Remembrance Day events were taking place.
Bolton, from Oxfordshire, was given an indefinite mental health order at a sentencing hearing at Southwark Crown Court.
A second man who climbed over a gate at Buckingham Palace last October 7 has also been detained in hospital. Daniel Sheehan (21) was detained under the Mental Health Act at Westminster Magistrates Court.
