Charlotte is punters' bet for royal baby's name
A flurry of bets has put Charlotte in the running to become the new favourite royal baby name, with punters convinced the Duchess of Cambridge is having a girl.
Alice has long taken the lead as the most backed name but one bookmaker has broken away to put Charlotte in front.
Paddy Power said more than half of all money taken on baby betting yesterday was put on Charlotte, causing them to cut the odds from 7/1 down to 9/4.
A Paddy Power spokesman said: "Punters are seriously getting caught up in Charlotte's web and sending Alice back to Wonderland."
Meanwhile, William Hill still has Alice in the top spot with Charlotte following closely behind.
As the wait for William and Kate's second baby continues, Britons are squeezing in last-minute bets.
A William Hill spokesman said: "The latest predictions suggest that the baby will be born on Thursday, she will be a Princess and she will be called Alice."
