Christie denies dangerous driving
Olympic gold medallist Linford Christie has appeared in court accused of dangerous driving.
The 50-year-old former British sprinter denied a charge of driving an Audi A8 dangerously on the A413 Amersham Road, Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire, on May 8 last year.
A crown court trial date was set for July 18 at either Aylesbury or Amersham.
The 1992 Olympic 100m gold medallist, dressed in an open-necked striped shirt and a dark grey suit, spoke only to confirm his name and deny the charge at a hearing at Aylesbury Crown Court.
His address was given by the court as Sherland Road, Twickenham, Middlesex.
The court appearance comes after an investigation by Thames Valley Police into a crash with a taxi.
