Corden deal earns charities £32,000

Comic actor James Corden landed £32,000 for charity in a special edition of Channel 4 series Deal Or No Deal.

Viewers saw him win the cash for the Terrence Higgins Trust and Save the Children in the programme screened last night, with members of his family helping out as he took on the banker.

One Direction even sent a good luck message to spur him on to a big win during the programme, James Corden Does Deal Or No Deal.

Corden agonised over some of his decisions, which earned him a ticking off from his parents, but in a risky climax to the show in which he risked the £16,000 winnings he had already amassed, he staked everything to buy "box 23" which could have meant he left with nothing.

But luck was on his side and he managed to double his money for the charities.
