Diana's bridesmaid 'bitterly regrets' selling royal wedding dress
One of Diana, Princess of Wales's bridesmaids "bitterly regrets" selling her dress.
Sarah-Jane Gaselee, the daughter of racehorse trainer Nick Gaselee who schooled the Prince of Wales as a jump jockey , was just 11 when she played a part in the royal wedding.
But she sold her Elizabeth Emanuel-designed bridesmaid dress to Diana's brother, Earl Spencer, in 1999 for an estimated £11,000.
Her brother James told Sebastian Shakespeare for the Daily Mail: " She now bitterly regrets it, but she needed the money at the time. She got criticised, but the truth is she was a bit hard up as a youngster and needed the cash."
Ms Gaselee once said she remembered every second of the 1981 wedding.
" The roar was deafening. It seemed the whole world was cheering. It was overwhelming," she said of following Charles and Diana out of St Paul's Cathedral.
