DJ Chris Evans has been tested for prostate cancer
Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans has told listeners he is "in the middle of the tests" for prostate cancer.
The presenter talked about it after former Small Faces and The Who drummer Kenney Jones, who himself survived prostate cancer, appeared on his breakfast show in support of a charity campaign.
Speaking on his breakfast show, Evans said: "Prostate cancer, along with colon cancer of course, is one of the most survivable forms of cancer there is if caught early enough. If not, one of the least.
"It's a fine line between life and death, happiness and tragedy. And I've got to say I'm in the middle of a prostate issue right now.
"I couldn't stop. I have not been able to stop since Christmas - peeing, or wanting to go - so I've gone to the doctor and I've done all the internet stuff you shouldn't do. However I'm in the middle of the tests."
Jones, a supporter of Prostate Cancer UK's Men United campaign, said he had benefited from "amazing support" from the charity.
He said: "I was lucky that my disease was caught early - but with one man dying in the UK every hour from the disease, there's a long way to go."
