Drug duo given jail for life over stab murders
Two members of a gang who ambushed a pair of rival drug dealers, stabbing them to death in order to steal their client list, have been jailed for life.
Alex Bernard (21) and Casey Jones (19), both from east London, were both found guilty of the "swift, frenzied, utterly brutal" double murder.
Drug dealers Aaron Carriere, (21) and Josiah Manful (20) were lured to a quiet residential road in Leytonstone, London, early on March 1 last year.
They were "boxed in" by their killers and stabbed 24 times in less than a minute.
Jones was sentenced to a minimum of 34 years and Bernard to a minimum of 31 years.
Judge John Bevan told the Old Bailey: "It was a frenzied, adrenaline and probably a drug-fuelled attack and inevitably results in very long sentences."
Two other members of the gang, Devonte Campbell and Omar Hassan, will be sentenced at a later date
Judge Bevan said the murder was a "co-ordinated, pre-meditated group attack by a group armed with knives".
