Father in court over baby killing
A father has appeared in court accused of murdering his two-month-old baby girl.
Tyler Vallance, 20, appeared at Worcester Crown Court where he was further charged with the ill-treatment or neglect of a child causing unnecessary suffering or injury.
Vallance, who is from Redditch, Worcestershire, but is in prison on remand, faced charges in connection with the youngster's death alongside her mother Jessica Higgins, aged 18.
Higgins, of Engadine Road, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, is accused of causing or allowing the death of a child and is further charged with the ill-treatment or neglect of a child causing unnecessary suffering or injury.
The charges relate to injuries their daughter Isabella Vallance sustained at a house in Redditch between December 5 and December 7 last year, according to West Mercia Police.
The baby was taken to hospital but died on December 12.
The case was adjourned for a plea and case management hearing to be held at the Crown Court on October 28.
