Flats surrounded after shooting

Police have said they are "containing" a block of flats as part of a search for a gunman.

Firearms officers surrounded the flats in Coventry after a man was found with gunshot injuries.

West Midlands Police received reports of the shooting in Faseman Avenue, in the Tile Hill area of the city, said a force spokesman.

A 34-year-old man was later found with a gunshot wound to the lower arm and is now being treated in hospital. His injuries are not life threatening.

Police said it is understood it was a targeted shooting and not a random attack. Officers have contained the block of flats in the area in their search for the gunman.
