Funeral held for stabbing victims
Around 200 people have attended the funeral of a mother and her young daughter who were killed in a knife attack in Jersey.
Marta Dominika De La Haye, 34, and five-year-old Julia Frances died in the capital St Helier on August 14.
Her friend, Izabela Rzeszowska, 30, her children Kinga, five, and Kacper, two, and her father Marek Garstka, 56, were also killed
The head of the Catholic Church in Jersey, Monseigneur Nicholas France, said the hour-and-a-quarter-long public mass was conducted in both Polish and English and was "very poignant".
Mrs De La Haye's husband and Julia's father, Craig de la Haye, gave a reading along with other members of her family.
He said their bodies were carried into St Thomas' Catholic Church in St Helier in a white coffin which due to be taken to Poland for burial.
A funeral for the other victims is to be held on Thursday.
Mrs Rzeszowska, her children and her father are to be cremated ahead of a mass at the church, which is also open to all. Their ashes will then also be repatriated to Poland.
:: Mrs Rzeszowska's husband Damian Rzeszowski, 31, has been charged with six counts of murder and is due to appear at Jersey's Royal Court in St Helier on October 28.
