George Osborne highest-earning MP with £700k
Former Chancellor George Osborne was the highest-earning MP of the year, raking in £628,000 on top of his £74,962 salary, chiefly from lucrative public speaking engagements, figures have revealed.
Mr Osborne, who made more than £700,000 was sacked as Chancellor by Theresa May in July, but is one of 14 MPs who earned more than the Prime Minister, according to the latest Register of Members' Interests.
He was signed by the Washington Speaker Bureau, which also has Tony Blair on its books. His most profitable speeches were two for JP Morgan, for which he got £81,174 and £60,578, and one for Palmex Derivatives, which earned him £80,240.
