Grandparents of toddler traced

The grandparents of a toddler taken to hospital after she was found wandering alone in a town street have been traced, police said.

A passer-by called police when he found the girl, believed to be around 18 months to two years old, on the corner of Abbotsford Drive and Glenbervie Road in Grangemouth at around 2pm today.

The girl was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert for a check-up.

When found, the child was wearing a pink and grey Adidas top, pink trousers and one black boot.

Police said they are investigating to establish the circumstances of what happened.

A police spokesman said: "Police in Forth Valley can confirm that the grandparents of a toddler found in Grangemouth have now been traced.

"Inquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances, but officers would like to thank the public for their assistance in this matter."
