Groom accused of four rapes on his wedding day
A groom has appeared in court charged with four rapes allegedly carried out on his wedding day.
Derry Flynn McCann (28), of Hackney in London, is accused of approaching the woman in a city park, dragging her into the bushes before allegedly raping and robing her.
The attack happened late on January 13, just hours earlier McCann married his pregnant wife.
The Sun is reporting that he posted pictures of himself with his new wife on his public Facebook page.
His ceremony took place at The Vestry in Bromley-by-Bow, East London.
He was arrested and charged six days after the alleged attack.
He appeared in Thames Magistrates court on January 20 charged with four counts of rape and one count of robbery against the 24-year-old woman.
According to reports the case has been sent to Snaresbrook crown court with a hearing set for February 16.
The victim told police that she was walking in Victoria Park in Hackney when she was grabbed and dragged into a bush.
After the alleged attack, officers from the Met Police issued a description of their suspect.
They said he was white, aged 30, 5ft 8in tall and spoke with a London accent.
The man being sought was dressed in a grey hooded top with a black body warmer, blue jeans and grey trainers.
