Hamilton late for watches promotion
Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton apologised for his timing after he turned up late to a promotional event for Swiss watches.
The racing driver posed for pictures and took part in a question-and-answer session at Selfridges in central London.
Hamilton, who was around half an hour late, told the assembled journalists: "Sorry to keep you waiting - I was flying in this morning."
He also got behind the wheel of an F1 simulator which tested his skills on a replica Silverstone track ahead of this weekend's British Grand Prix.
The 28-year-old, who was at the event for IWC watches with Mercedes team boss Ross Brawn, said: "Timing is everything for a Formula 1 team, for a Formula 1 driver."
Hamilton, who is currently fourth in the drivers' world standings, said he was pleased with his performances so far.
He said: "I was anticipating having a much worse start to the year and thinking we would just have to be progressing, but we've actually started off on a much better foot than expected."
