ID theft charge for terror suspect

A man arrested at Heathrow Airport by anti-terror police has been charged with stealing identity documents and a passport, say police.

Alex Nash, aged 20, from Walsall, West Midlands, was originally detained on suspicion of Syria-related terror offences along with his partner - a 19-year-old woman - after disembarking a flight from Istanbul in Turkey on Tuesday night.

West Midlands Police said Nash, of no fixed address, was due to appear at Coventry Magistrates' Court later today.

Officers from West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit said Nash, who is unemployed, and his partner had been released on conditional police bail in connection with the separate terror offences investigation while inquiries continue.
