In video: 100 liberty statues mark Trump human rights protest
Amnesty International has been strongly critical of several measures from the new US government.
A group of human rights activists protested against the first 100 days of Donald Trump’s presidency by dressing up as the Statue of Liberty.
The Amnesty International activists, who marched with banners reading “No ban”, “No wall” and “Refugees welcome”, staged the demonstration to draw attention to a series of human rights concerns during President Trump’s first three months in the White House.
Amnesty has been strongly critical of several measures from the new US government, including the multi-country travel ban affecting Muslim majority countries, the 120-day halt to its refugee resettlement programme and plans for a wall on the Mexican border.
