James McClean gets six month driving ban
West Brom footballer James McClean has been banned from driving for six months.
Londonderry-born player McClean (26), a Republic of Ireland international, was disqualified after the court at North Staffordshire Justice Centre learned he already had six penalty points on his driving licence.
The winger, who lives in Bolton, appeared before magistrates following the offence last December when he failed to provide information about the identity of the driver of a Range Rover at Beaconside. No further details of the offence are known.
The Premier League star was not in court during the hearing, but he was represented by a solicitor.
On top of the driving ban, McClean was fined £400 for the offence and ordered to pay £85 costs. A magistrate further imposed a £40 victim surcharge.
The extra points placed on his licence for the offence meant he was banned for six months.
