Jason Gardiner mugged at knifepoint
A TV judge has been subjected to a terrifying knifepoint robbery by youths who threatened to kill him for his iPhone.
Jason Gardiner, 40, a judge on ITV's Dancing on Ice, said on social networking site Twitter that the attack had left him shaken and "disgusted with where our society is heading".
The attack happened in Stockwell, south London, on Sunday night.
The Australian TV star tweeted: "Tonight I was mugged by two hooded black youths in Stockwell who held a knife to my throat and threatened to kill me all for an iPhone!!"
He then added: "Apart from being shaken I'm fine! I am saddened more than anything and disgusted with where our society is heading."
One Twitter user questioned his reference to the race of his attackers, prompting him to tweet: "Yes it is. Its not racist its a vital fact in case anyone can help and report them to the police!"
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "There has been an allegation of robbery made by a 40-year-old man.
"It was reported at 11.30pm and is said to have allegedly taken place at approximately 7.15pm on the Stockwell Road. There are no arrests at this stage."
