The new Government is hoping for continued improvement on the employment front as new figures reveal how many people are out of work.

The latest unemployment data from the Office for National Statistics is expected to show another fall in the jobless total, a trend enjoyed by the coalition administration.

Analysts predict that the 1.84 million figure for the three months to February will be cut for the quarter to March.

Recent studies showed that firms remain optimistic about creating jobs.

The figures are the first on unemployment since the general election campaign, in which the economy and jobs were a central feature.
