Kate new face for kids' charity as Queen steps aside
The Duchess of Cambridge has succeeded the Queen as patron of the national charity Action For Children.
Kate will take on the role after it was announced on Tuesday the Queen was stepping down from her position, and giving up her patronages with 24 other bodies.
Sir Tony Hawkhead, Action For Children's chief executive, said: "Everyone at Action For Children is thrilled."
Action For Children supports and speaks out for the most vulnerable and neglected children and young people. It works with hundreds of thousands of children, young people, parents and carers each year at 650 services across the UK.
