Those stuck in traffic jams or held up on the Tube might not believe it, but London is the easiest city in Europe to get around, according to a survey of travellers.
The UK capital was also voted the most exciting European city as well as the most overpriced, a poll by the TripAdvisor company found.
In contrast, Birmingham was voted the most boring European city as well as the least romantic.
The results were based on responses from 3,523 European travellers, including 778 Britons, and found that among European cities, Istanbul is the hardest to get around, while Paris has the rudest cab divers and Rome the friendliest ones.
TripAdvisor spokeswoman Emma O'Boyle said: "It's encouraging for everyone involved in London's tourism industry that, despite the concerns around cost, the city is regarded by European travellers as a vibrant and accessible destination.
"Undoubtedly the buzz around next year's Olympics has contributed to London being crowned Europe's most exciting city, and we fully expect this momentum to continue into 2012 and beyond."
However exciting London may have been labelled, though, the responses also showed that it was second only to Paris in the city with the least friendly locals.
And Paris once again pipped its English counterpart, this time to the head of the list of the most overrated cities, while Lisbon was voted the most underrated.
Venice is the most romantic, and Stockholm is the safest, while Athens was rated the dirtiest and Zurich the cleanest.
