Candidates standing in June’s General Election should focus on households with a BMW 3 Series on the driveway, new figures indicate.

The more affordable Volkswagen Golf and Nissan Qashqai are the second and third most popular used cars respectively for people living in these constituencies.
In fourth place is the Audi A3, ahead of the Ford Focus.
CarGurus spokeswoman Sarah Welch said: “Political pollsters are always looking for ways to segment and target voters, and identifying voters by the cars they drive is one way of doing this.
“‘Mondeo Man’ was a popular saying back in the New Labour heyday, but now it is interesting to see that the car which could define swing voters in the UK’s marginal seats is the German-made BMW 3 Series.
“Our data shows that ‘Mondeo Man’ has certainly grown up, and he or she seems to have more luxurious aspirations now too.”
